Friends, Family, Followers:

Shelley was a best friend, mentor, inspiration and comedian to me when I attended Burke Mountain Academy.  I tried like hell to imitate her wit, to train and love it as much as her, to study my smarts off as she did, to be a best friend and an angel to everyone's life she touched.  Like too many people who live to explore, dream, and discover, her life was taken away from her too soon, on Mother's Day in May of 2004, just 6 days prior to her 18th birthday.  May 14th would be Shelley Glover's 25th birthday.  Chocolate cake was her favorite, I'm sure with some Ben & Jerry's Phish Food.  However, instead of rushing out to buy a piece of chocolate cake and a pint, please consider giving to the Shelley Glover Fund!

"To honor her life and legacy, the Shelley Glover Sports Education Foundation (SGSEF) is launching an endowment drive to raise $25,000 by May 14th, 2011, kick-starting the expansion of its mission to formally include all three of Shelley’s favorite sports – skiing, swimming, and soccer.

In tandem with SGSEF’s campaign, we would like to provide fellow Burkies with an opportunity to make a gift to BMA’s Shelley Glover Fund. Annual proceeds to the Shelley Glover Fund go toward desired training equipment for the Glover Training Center or toward young ski racers’ participation in BMA’s junior development programs, such as the Junior Program, December Development Camp (formerly known as Christmas Camp), and summer training camps. BMA’s Shelley Glover Fund honors Shelley’s life, by supporting young athletes in pursuing their passion to be competitive skiers."
